E X P L O R A T I O N

Born in Ventura, California, the foundation of my life has always been exploration and adventure. Capturing adventure has become my passion for life. As a young boy, I went on frequent hikes and backpacking trips with my father and sometimes mother and sister. The effects of being out in nature when I was young impressed a love for the natural world I couldn't yet fathom. As I matured, I began to take on more significant challenges, such as mountain climbing and ultra-running. As time passed, I wanted to get deeper into nature, where no humans existed for miles and miles. I started heavily modifying my truck, a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. This enabled me to adventure on a whole new level. Since 2021, I've been traveling with the ultimate adventure buddy: my working K9, Rune. A Dutch Shepherd who, just like me, feels most at home out in nature.

Ever since I was a kid, I have been infatuated with photography. My father had a DSLR, which I would occasionally borrow and take on hikes and backpacking trips. I was always taking photos of landscapes and anything I found interesting. As I grew older and technology advanced, I figured cell phones would be good enough, but they never were. I wanted crisp, detailed photos that even the best Camera phones could not provide, so I started researching photography's history, becoming fond of Ansel Adam's work and Carleton Watkin's work. I studied every aspect of photography I could find for months and became even more infatuated.

In the winter of 2022, I invested in my first Mirrorless Camera setup: a Sony A7IV and the Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM. I began capturing nature landscapes and whatever I could fit within the lens limits. Since then, I've been obsessed with dialing in my technique and artistic style. I've added a 35-150mm F2-2.8 and a Sony 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G lens (with the option to reach 840mm using a teleconverter).

Capturing the unique and unforgettable moments in life is what drives me to become a better photographer. The never-ending task of trying to become a master of my craft pushes me to work hard with pride. I live and breathe adventure and exploration.
